Originally created in 1936, the asymmetrical and fluid wave design by Finnish design legend Alvar Aalto for Iittala has become an iconic symbol of modern Nordic interior design. Each distinctive Aalto vase and bowl is mouth-blown at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland, meticulously hand-cut, and polished multiple times. In the spring of 2003, the taller Finlandia style vase was introduced to accommodate contemporary flower arrangements with longer stems.
